I've searched and this it the information i got:
Yes SII tps's do not bolt up to the q45 throttlebody. You must also use a non-TC model. Also as for wiring it is three wires one of which is black for ground. For the other two wires, I tried both ways and one way gives you about 10 in/hg and the other way gives you about 20 in/hg. So I just wired it up so the vac is at 20 in/hg
I have the Q45 throttle body. You would only use if it you have a greddy intake manifold or a custom one. I am using it with the greddy intake manifold and it bolts right up. The only thing is that you flip it so its upside down (coolant lines on top). The throttle body also has a the fast idle system which is controlled by coolant temperature. Basically, when the engine is cold, the throttle body will open alittle bit to allow for higher idle, once the engine is at operating temperature, then the fast idle doesn't interfere anymore. If you don't hook up the coolant lines (most people don't hook it up) then you have to remove the spring and bracket from the fast idle system so it doesn't interfere with your idle.Anyways, I'll try and post some pictures later today.why did i flip over the throttle body?the throttle body bolts on either way, but i flipped it over because when it is flipped over, it is aligned with the throttle cable bracket. its also in the installation instructions that came with the manifold. The reason people run the q45 is because the greddy intake manifold is flanged for that size throttlebody. Any other manifold will require modifications to use another throttlebodyThe q45 throttlebody will idle high if the cold start unit is hooked up and you don't have any water lines going to it. As the coolant heats up and flows through the TB, the cold start unit will lower the idle. If you choose not to run the water lines to the TB, which is pretty much everyone, then the unit must be disabled.Wiring is also simple. All the tps units work the same and wire up the same. Just wire up the plug pin for pin. The center wire will always be the signal wire. If for some reason the tps doesn't work after wiring, then you probably have the left and right wires swapped... if they are don't worry you won't mess up the tps unit, just swap the wires. Just make sure the center signal wire gets wired up to the center signal wire(Q45 TPS) to harness(Red) to yellow/black(white) to red/blue(black) to black/blueJust splice and be done wit it. IF you want set the key to on and verify 5 volts at yellow/black wire.
There is nothing about using a q45 throttle body on an rb20det. Basically i'm trying to wire up the tps pigtails into the wiring rb20det harness. Also i can't find the fast idle spring that you are talking about.
please help me.
