ok ive had some problems with installing an after market cd deck in my Z. i went and bought the adapter from bestbuy to plug into the cars wiring harness and then wired it to my decks harness. everything matches and i get power and all but no audio/sound what so ever. i checked my wires and their all good. i pluged the stock cassete deck back in and the radio kicks right on. its very frustrating, so if anyone has had a similar problem and fixed it any advice would be appriciated.

Is this a used or new headunit?

i don't know how to do it myself, but you have to over-ride the stock amps in each speaker so that the decks preamps can work.

Try switching the blue and the blue/white wire. I had the same problem not too long ago. Give it a shot and give an update.

you were right about having to over rout the amps. ive done the rear speakers but havent got to the front. hopefully it wont be to difficult getting in there.

You really don't have to over-ride the amps just to install an after-market. I have my head unit wired straight through the factory wiring and it works fine. I simply had to tweak the equilizer and my volume rarely goes past 8 with CDs.
