I need help with my custom grill

So I have an 08 altima coupe and I purchased a c mod grill. I've already grown bored of it and decided to gut it and plan on customizing it. So here goes I have no idea what materials to use, bondo, fiberglass etc. Anything is better than mesh. Can anybody with bodyshop experience point me in the right direction. I'll need something sandable and of course paintable. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Personally I would use some foam material to make/carve the "forms" and then lay some fiberglass over that to create the structure. Then bondo to your heart's content! Honestly if you don't have any experience doing this than you might be really sad that you decided to do it lol Maybe you could just practice for a while and see what you like before you start cutting up your cmod!
