Hey guys.

Is there anyone out there that would be willing to manage the 'vert registry? It would be an awesome help to the 'vert forum, and NICO as a whole.

We've been working on this 'vert registry database project for quite a while.. and we do a nice job of getting our members to log their VIN's in the registry, but there are so many other 'verts out there that pop up on ebay, autotrader, cars.com, craigslist, etc...

The task would require a person to keep a copy of an excel spreadsheet on their computer and frequently watch those internet sources to log VIN # and relevant info for whatever 'verts show up. I would estimate 15 to 30 minutes a day at most.

I've got a spreadsheet already running with a lot of info, but I need someone who has some time to take it and run with it. Regrettably, I just don't have the time right now to keep an eye on those places to log vin entries.

Please let me know if you can help out.

Thanks!Your Humble 'vert moderator. Seth

i was helping seth with this a while back and regretably also do not have time/ability to contribute anymore. those willing to work, work too much.

the work really isn't very hard, just time consuming.

sorry i couldn't be more help, seth.

if nobody else jumps on this by winter, i will probably have the time/resources to try to do this again. time will tell.

HELP GUYS!!! please.

Wished I could help, would love to do it. But too busy at work and dialup at home don't allow it.

GL on the search.

probably like 10 - 15 minutes a day.. just cruise some websites a few times a week to get the info on the 'verts out there for sale.

I sent you a lengthy email with instructions.. but in short.. find all the 'verts you can and get their info for the registry!

hey,

not to pry but...wouldn't it just be better if there was a site up specifically for this? that way, no one has to manage separate excel sheets?

A simple table display of info and a few fields would do. The only logic that the backend would need is checking against the existing database to see if it already exists (or even append if new owner) and maybe some VIN # masking identification.

Agreed Chi.. we're working on that.

But for now.. I just need someone who has time to hit the websites (autotrader, cars.com, ebay, etc.. ) to find the 'vert info to add to the database.

No matter what system we have.. Ebay car sellers are not going to seek us out and add themselves. We have to find them and take that info.

Sounds like DK is going to be all over that. But if anyone else wants to chip in.. There's plenty of work that can be done.

ok - but I meant, it can be used even by DK.

Just in general then, how about a google spreadsheet then? That way, at least you guys can share the same login and edit the same doc.
