there is definitely a "key" that goes into a notch on the crank. the crank pulley then goes over that, with the crank bolt following.
it keeps the crank in place on the crank, keeps it from spinning.
it IS removable, it teeters out, so im reaaaaally hoping you didnt lose that at some point. thatd be bad news bears for you.
