the lanc. crew just came over and we redid mine. ill post some pics of it in the morning for you.
its SAFE.
but bassically runs power from battery cable to a relay AND a fuse then to fans. grounded to intake mani.
with a tiny ground going to a switch inside.
ya... ill get pics in the morning.
somebody wana explain it better?
it works perrfecctt.

if u add a switch yes... u could turn the fans off when u start the car... or wire in a relay and have it trigger off the fuel pump... mines actually tapped into the fuel pump fuse.

my brother did it to his old truck. but im pretty sure you can. if you splice the power or ground cable . and you can run wires to the inside and mount the switch somewhere.

Well i was gonna wire it up to the fuel pump but then i was afraid that it wouldn't work as effieciently as it should, but yeah that makes sense to do it that way, umm some diagrams would be nice, or if u can add the pics that would be great

Using a relay triggered by the fuel pump circuit is one thing but if you're going to just wire into the fuel pump wiring you may as well grow a mullet.

Why not do it right, and still stay fairly inexpensive... look up a hayden 3647 or a 3651. The 3647 has a temp probe that goes into the radiator fins and the 3651 has a 1/8" NPT sending unit that can be screwed into a collar or adapter in the upper rad. hose. It's not fancy but it will do the job properly.

^ I was waiting for someone to suggest that haha. That's similar to what I have on my VH setup (different part but same principal). I have a 2 speed fan so the sending unit turns on the fan on the low setting and then I have a switch on the dash for high speed.

As for your Walbro, it should've come with instructions. All you do is pull the pump and replace the old one with the new pump. Sometimes you need to get a little fancy with mounting it though. 300zx's and 240sx's use the same mounting kit so I wouldn't be surprised if you needed to fab something up too.

you can buy a temp probe kit from autozone for pretty cheap it just reads the temp and you can set it to turn the power to the fans on at a preset temp this way you dont have to try to remember to turn the fans on and in the winter when you want that precius heat we all enjoy it wont take longer to heat up cause your fans are always on its real simple to wire just find any hot wire thats on when the cars on or go straight to the battery with a proper amp fuse
