Haven't been here in years because my 2005 G35x sedan has been flawless. But now, there is a rattle in the right front at low speeds over small bumps. It sounds like the wheel is flapping and about to come off but it can't be felt at all in the steering wheel and it stops when the brakes are applied and doesn't happen (or can't be heard) at higher speeds, over 30mph. The noise can't be duplicated on the lift. I've replaced the brake pads, the caliper, the upper and lower control arm bushings and links and the rattle is unchanged. My always reliable mechanics have given up, no idea what this is. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

Have you checked the top hat (aka: Shock absorber mounting bracket) on the shocks? These can go bad and make rattles and clunks.

Thanks for the suggestion, I don't think we got to that specific part, but we will now. Hope to get it up on the lift again tomorrow. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks a lot for the info.

Id say the compression rod or maybe even a tie rod.
