i need help to replace my 01 sentra starter.

i have to replace the starter in my 01 sentra. i have heard that there are different starters for this car, and only some will fit certain cars. i did pick up a new one at the parts store, but it's longer than the facory one. any idea which starter will fit my car. the engine is a 2.0. the factory starter is a hitatchi. the replacement is a mitsubishi. the book says both manufactures will work, but the original is smaller. please help. thank you all. -dan.

The hitachi is junk, the mitsubishi starter is the best of the two. Use it and have piece of mind.

Go with the Mitsubuishi Starter, more expensive but better. When I got a starter for mine it was also a different size, turns out they gave meone for a 1.6 not a 2.0.
