i need help!!

Heres the problem i was driving my 89 then it suddenly dies...but i start back up then a bunch of white smoke comes out of the exhaust. at first i think head gasket but its a bluish smoke and kinda just lingers. now my car wont keep its idle at all it stays at 1rpm then just drops till its dead. after a good 30 min i finally get it to start but i have to keep it idling so i just wanted to get the car home and when i was driving the car felt like it was misfiring. I end up trying to clear it a bit and go half throttle but when i do that i feel no sudden change in power im still going the same speed and the car wont go any faster plus the car is constantly back firing. I park the car for a couple of weeks then just decided to see if it would start and it does just fine with very little white smokebut then just disappears. now it just idles a little rough and wont keep its idle.

dont know about the smoke..

but check your ignition systems.
