i just started to install my ca and sh*t hit the fan first off it was a 5 speed ka24e but i think it started off a automatic. I put the ca in and the shifter sits 2 inches too far forward and my drive shaft is off like 2 inches i asked car tune and he said i have a automatic drive shaft is the automatic shorter than the five speed or did i install it wrong everything looks to be mounted right if there is any body in the dallas fort worth area that would help me out i will pay you money and also is it ok to run stock turbo without intercooler i mean at stock boost some idiot on ebay sold me a bent intercooler and it leaks so it would not help. Thanx guys any suggestions holla at me.

The 5 speed swap I saw done in Japan used the 5 speed driveshaft so I think its different, dont know why the shifter is too far forward though.

You could run the engine (dont boost) without the ic but you would have to run the piping so you arent pulling non filtered air in. Probably be better off just getting a new intercooler before you drive it.

I've never heard about the motor sitting too far forward, so thats a new one, but I do know that you have to have the 5 spd drive shaft.

Well good to hear. I'm glad it's all worked out now.

is it still sitting too far forward? if so, check how the motor is on the motor mounts. when i put my first CA in the motor mounts were leaning forward and that stopped it from going back to the proper space. If this is the case, just lift it off the motor mounts and put it back down straight. hope this helps.

i found out that u have to use the ca mounts thats why it is sitting like that it came with only one so i used the other off the ka motor thats why it sits like that this sucks i have bought so much stuff for it and cant even drive the damn thing sr turbo trust o2 housing trust downpipe trust hotpipe so i ordered the mount from cartune here in dallas very good people you guys should check him out he can get anything you want and has a ca in stock right now and plenty of sr, and rbs i think the website is http://www.cartunetexas.com if im not mistaken if you talk to him tell him bryan sent you. He can get harnesses to management systems just about anything.
