how do i remove the shift knob off a 2000 nissan maxima se

I dont know maximas that well so Im guessing its automatic. If its manual the shift knob twists off. For automatics, it depends. Some twist off and some dont. Post a pic of what it looks like and we will be able to tell you.

You're not twisting hard enough. Twist counter-clockwise. It'll come off.

Yeah since its manual just twist it to the left (counter-clockwise) and it will come off. Dont worry about using all your force. Its probably hard because it has never come off yet.

Have you tried your hardest to turn it. I read in some short shifter installation guide for 1995-2001 maxima that some nissan shift knobs are glued on. So just keep gripping and ripping and sooner or later it will twist off.
