Clutch/slave cylinder/transmission/synchros for 1st and 2nd going out maybe? Check your timing, plugs, plug wires, distributor, etc. too. Do you get any grinding, or have a hard time shifting gears/getting trans to go into gear? What's this power loss like? Does it just go really slow and then when you hit third it's like you hit a 100 shot of NOS? When you're in 1st or 2nd and it's not responding/there is no power, does it feel like the more gas you give it the slower it responds?

That's weird. When my firebird did that it was the computer sensing detonation and retarding the timing. I'm not sure but I'd check the things I mentioned earlier. Also check/replace the coolant temp sensor (the ECU one, not the dash gauge one). This sounds like an electrical issue, but again I'm not sure and without being able to be there myself I am less sure. Are your battery cables and engine grounds good? Things like that would seem to effect every gear though. Weird. I don't know man.

^Another good suggestion but again, wouldn't a clogged/dirty fuel filter affect acceleration in every gear?

Bad MAF sensor/sensor wires shorted out or loose piping somewhere between MAFS and throttlebody.

If intake piping including MAFS is all tight and has no leaks, then you have a short in the wires going to MAFS. Shifting/driving causes engine and wires to move your short lines somewhere in there. If you don't have a short then you have a loose ground. 99% chance it lines within this area.

this issue is very common and can result from SEVERAL factors, all of which you can search for more info on.

check your grounds, spark plugs and wires, distributor rotor and cap, fuel injectors, air filter/mafs, fuel lines, fuel pump...
