i need help starting up

i have a 90 240sx and i changed starter terminals and battery and alternator is fine but start up is not. starting up is not reliable. it seems like i have to wait for something to charge... and than it fires up. can any1 help me?

Maybe start relay or clutch switch if its a manual trans.

clutch switch? does that mean neautral safety switch?
