i need help once more, lol

alright, so i just replaced my control arm. And i was trying to torque the nut onto the lower balljoint assembly, but it seems that the bolt that im trying to torque the nut onto spins freely. I was wondering if anyone knows how to put it on?

did you try with the car up in the air or on the ground? you gotta have the vehicle weight on the ball joint to properly torque it.

the bolt is actually a wedge shape therefore the weight of the vehicle pushes it down into the hole.

i tried to torque it while i had it jacked up off the ground. Are you sure that its safe to lower the car back down when the nut is not secure on the bolt?

Yup. FSM states you need to have the vehicle under normal load (more than hafl full gas tank, someone sitting in driver seat, all jack components in place) in order to correctly torque any of your control arms.

yep its safe. i did mine that way on both sides and havent had any issues. i went to retorque it and it was right at where i originally tightened it.
