I have never replaced the lines, so I'm not sure hw to bleed the breaks, or flush or whatever which will be neccesary when replacing the lines. As far as doing the pads and whatnot, it is all a bolt on affair. Take it off, put it all back together. Only thing you have to mess with is the calipers. For the rear: Twist the piston into the calliper untill it will clear the pad, then slide the caliper over the rotor and bolt up. For the front, compress the piston with a clamp, then do the same.

If a chiltons or haynes manual confuses you, seek help from a professional first. Or get a friend that has done a entire brake repalcement on a car, bleeding and everything until you get comfortable with it.I've seen too many wanna-be mechanics try and repalce brakes to sve money and get themselves into situations they cna't get out of due to a lack of tools, knowledge or both.

I haven't writen up a brake install guide for a variety of reasons incudling liability...

also, bleeding brake lines can be tricky...

no (dimension-wise at least). z32 is a brake upgrade.

EXACTLY like the men said, if chilton's was confusing to you, then you should just take it to a mechanic. i myself have never done lines either, but i did put on X/S rotors and pads. i basically followed chilton to a T. (altho the e-brake cable was a bit tricky at first and then the pins for the pad was a bit of a pain ) but the bleeding of the brakes didn't seem so hard for me, however, i have an S14... maybe a lil diff

All brake installations are "similar"... the thing you have to consider are shims/clips and caliper design. a Z32 has a two piston rear caliper, whereas the s-chassis only has a single "actuated" read caliper. THis means you have to use a tool to turn the piston back into the caliper to install pads on the rear...

but the installation would be "similar" at a macro level, yes.

^ true. i was going to say something similar at first but didn't want to give him the impression that the brakes are identical. if i recall correctly, isn't it basically an all new master cylinder and diff stuff all the way down? i haven't worked w/ any type of Z32 brakes at all so I don't really have much merit with that tho.
