i need help on headlight socket

I have a 1998 nissan maxima and I currently have some hyper whites rated at 8000k that burnt that melted the socket so my headlights wouldnt work. so i had to cut off my old electrical connector for the headlights an buy new ones. the connector just had 3 black cords while the cords originally are color cordinated. I conected the socket but my headlights still wont work, is there a diagram or a special way it needs to be connected. please help
