I WHENT DRIFTING AND DID A SHIFT LOCK AND LOCKED THE REAR WHEELS AND SLID THE CORNER. AFTER THAT THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE BUT IT WAS NOT LIKE ROD KNOCK BUT MORE LIKE A CLICKING. I PULLED THE transmission OFF AND THE CLUTCH THE ALL THE SPRINGS WHERE BROKEN so I put a ka clutch in put it all back together. The knock was still there and the clicking too. Some of the noise whent away but it is still there.

Yesterday after I got off work I walked to my car and started it and drove it around the block and it still boost 10psi and all, but its hard to put in to gear and shift. When I got back to my house the car turned off and would not start so I got my freind to help. My friend and I would tap the starter with a hammer to see if it was a starter problem, but it does the same thing. It just clicks once and the same thing. But you can see the motor shake and move to the side a bit when you try to start it.

Also when I drive the car, whenever I let it rev down I get a really bad vibration for 4000 rpm on down, and when free rev the motor that noise is there then it goes away at 1200 rpm (where my car idles).

I fear that my motor is messed up... Can you help me with info to fix it? I have an 86 200sx clutch kit that I am going to put in if I can find out if my motor is ok or can be fixed. Thanks!

It sounds like your transmission is munched. The engine jerking when you try to start it even though the starter doesn't spin seems to indicate the transmission won't rotate. jack up the rear end, put it on some stands (safety first kids ) Put the transmission in neutral and see if the wheels will rotate, have a freind on the other side spin the tire over there at the same time in the same direction. Look and be sure the driveshaft is spinning to. I am thinking when your clutch uh, how do I say, oh yeah EXPLODED it may have done some serious damage to the transmission's internals. Hope this helps.

What exactly did you do? I'm not familiar with the term "Shift Lock"

First of all, I'm with TMS on this one, I think you shelled the transmission.

MikelZ: A shift lock is a term used to describe a method used to initiate a drift. The way that it is performed is that you approach a turn in a higher gear (generally 3rd/4th). As you reach the turn you turn the wheel, depress the clutch, shift to a lower gear (2nd/3rd), and quickly release/"pop" the clutch. The shock of the downshift is transfered through the drivetrain and causes the rear tires to break loose. The rest is just regular drifting (aka: NOT smaking into a curb)

That's what I thought, mechanically forcing your car to overrev, bad idea :o

well, not nessicarily over-rev. It's more like severe engine braking...

Well, it was squeaking so I thought it might have spun a bearing. I am going to drain the oil, take the filter off, cut it open and see if there is any metal in the oil. After that I'll get back with you guys to let you know what it looked like.

i would think your next thing to look at would be the transmission....pull it and see if you can spin it with your hand while ini gear...if it wont spin then you found your problem if it spends then you have a bigger problem
