Usually a oily plug means you have bad rings or bad valves/ valve seats. Does your car smoke while its running? There is no "gasket" around you spark plugs. What do the rest of your plugs look like?

If you have a SOHC, then this could be a problem, if you have a DOHC, then its probably just an o-ring, take off the valve cover and check it out.

It would help us all answer your question if you would answer whether or not you have a 89-90 or 91+ 240sx

ok, then its most likely just the simple o-rings that hold oil out of the spark plug socket, its kinda hard to explain but if you just pull the valve cover off then you will see what I'm talking about. it seals the valve cover to the head around the plug.

Well then it's not that bad of a leak, hopefully it's nothing more than a bad piston ring try upgrading to a higher weight oil, it will slow the process until you can put the engine under the knife. Also there is a product that napa sells called seafoam, you can add it to your crankcase and it helps seal the pistons.

Peace

There is a "gasket" around the spark plug on DOHC engines. It is actually around the base of the spark plug 'tube' in the valve cover.

Like the others have said these O-Rings can leak on higher mileage cars and can make a real mess. Just buy a replacement valve cover gasket set (make sure it includes the tube seals). Remove the valve cover and you'll have access to the tube seals to replace them.~Brendan
