I need major help!

Alright thursday, I did my 5 speed swap on my S14. Put a lightly used Spec stage 2 clutch in, and I believe a stock pressure plate. I put the throwout bearing in that was originally in my coupe but still spun freely.

Anyways, yesterday when I put it in first and start to let off the clutch I get this really loud grinding whine sound, if I put it in neutral, it still would make the noise, until I let off the clutch completly. then it would stop. It will do it in 1st, 2nd, reverse, and im not sure whatelse. I pulled the transmission (drained the fluid and it was very dark and mettalic, the plug had metal shavings on it to), transmission seemed bad. so I replaced the trans with another trans today... I got it all back together still with the same throwout bearing and clutch. Took it for a testdrive around the block and it worked fine, then when I went to leave after cleaning up, it immediatly started making this really bad whine/grinding noise again.

what could be wrong? Throwout? Clutch? Im really getting bummed about this... dont know what to do?

Always change your throwout bearing. It comes in a clutch kit and is a rule of thumb to change it so you dont have to take it all apart again if it goes bad.

Yeah my friend learned the hard way too by not changing it out. Come to find out he had a brand new one ready to be put on.

If you gotta pull it all back out I would do a clutch kit just because something else may be failing soon
