Make sure you have the polarity of the battery correct, the side with the writing (flat side) faces down when the battery is in its slot...also try putting the key fob in the key fob slot...and starting
That warning you are speaking of is the SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT....it might be that your fob needs reprogrammedpage 2-25 of your manual
Security indicator lightThe security indicator light blinks whenever theignition switch is in the OFF, LOCK or ACCposition.
