I recently got the stuff to do a 5 speed swap on my 91 240sx but i'm not sure what to do now. My brother pushed me into starting the project before i really knew how involved it was. We got the auto trans out, ran the brake and cluch petals (the cluch petal has got two pulgs on it i'm not sure what to with), and the 5 speed in but, when we got it in there i realized there were 4 plus on the 5 speed trans but i had no clue where to plug them into.

I have read up on how to wire the car to get it to start and how to get the reverse lights to work but, people aren't really that clear on what to do there either.

If someone has done this swap before i would love for there help....

should have done ur homework b4 you attempted it, anyway, as far as i know the only ones u need are your speed sensor and wire up the reverse light switch, the others you shouldnt need. but that was in my s13 if you have a s14 i think its more involved

next time study ur a** off b4 you do it and youll know

The connector spot on the pedal allows the car to start, but most swapped cars end up just putting a jumper in. Connect the neutral safety switch wires here. And then search, its easy....

So you wire the neutral switch from the transmission to the clutch pedal? I thought oyu just ran the neutral switch from the transmission to the ECU?

Well its the proper way to do it, most just add a jumper.

Oh ok, but if I follow the link I posted in my post I should be OK though? That guide is fine if your using auto ECU and auto transmission harness correct?

hmm i'm kinda confused as to where it will go on the pedal assembly...I might do it that way if I can figure out how it works lol I haven't opened up the car yet as it is my daily.

check all of the pin outs to be sure, but definitely do not connect the 5th position switch to the a/t ECM.

The auto eco wont allow the car to start unless the car is in P or N. This is caused by the neutral safety switch. its a NO connection that closes then on P or N. But you can land those wires on the clutch pedal (2 wire switch similar to the brake light switch on the brake pedal). When the clutch is pressed the switch closed and allows the ECU to send the proper start signals to the engine/starter.

oh ok thats why you have to jumper the wires in the bay to start?

so the neutral position sensor goes to the clutch pedal and not the ECU? sorry but everything ive read on the net has told me other things thats why im lost lol

im doing it in a 95' s14

its much easier to jump the wire. the cluth pedal that came with my swap didnt have the sensor so i had to jump those cables but i think hooking a cable on your cluth to you neutral switch is a good idea i would want that feature
