I bought an after market steering wheel and hub, but the hub has rubber rings that prevent the pins coming out from the base of the steering column, which apparently they need to touch to make the horn work. Someone told me i could shave down the thin rubber ring that was keeping the pin from touching, but when i did that whenever the pin touched the metal part of the hub the horn would go on without me pressing the horn.

I am not sure if i have ruined the hub or if the wires from the wheel need to be connected differently. I bought a sparco wheel to replace the other one that i got (it was a cheap rip off) so now i need to get things working properly. I had to unplug the horn from under the hood so it would stop honking at random. I really need a horn for those idoits on the road so they dont crash into me. Please if you have any info or links i would really appreciate it.

One more question. I am getting KTS coilovers but i also want some new rims. The rims i have now are 15", but i would like to get some 16". If i get the coilovers installed and set up correctly with the 15" rims can i just put 16" on later and the setting wouldn't change or do i need to do a different adjustment for ride height etc if i did that. I guess i could wait to put the coilovers on after i get the 16's if that would be the case. Please let me know. and thanks for the help

On my HKb hub I had to sand the plastic off the outer or inner (cant remember now...) the metal ring. Sounds like you tried this and now you horn stays on. Maybe you have the horn button wires shorted out somehow. Check you wiring and make sure you are on the right metal ring/right horn pin. The other rings are for cruise control, but if you have a S13 they will not match you will have to rewired and install switched for that....

get the 16's installed and then the coils....
