This dummy needs an explanation of the symbols to the left, stickies?, thumbtacks, lines of writing in a circle and on and on. I could guess but can someone clue me in. Thanks.

I would love to place pictures but I read the how to, anything that complex and my ADD kicks in. Is there an easier way?

I am really not stupid, but some things I don't have the ability to follow and /or the ability to do like changing out the # 6 spark plug in a 1997 Q. I have tried time and time again but I simply cannot do it.

Age takes its toll, a stroke takes its toll, I've paid the fare but some things I can't make out, so I would appreciate some help.

I never understood what the different symbols next to the threads meant beside read and not read. I don't think it really matters

But

This is always how I upload pictures;

First go to http://imageshack.us/

You can sign up for an account be you don't need to. I never did.

So it will look like this.

Image

make sure you set the resize for message boards as highlighted in the picture ^^

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You click browse and locate which ever folder the picture is in. And click open.

then it will look like this

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you press "upload now" you will get a screen like this

Then you'll want to copy the highlighted link (Forum code) and paste it in a forum post.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The link will look similar to this ( I deleted some parts so it won't actually show up as a picture)

url=http//imageshack.us/photo/my-images/69/crashzr.jpg/]Image[

Uploaded with url=http://imageshack.us]ImageShack.us[ <<< I always delete this part, its just advertising and does not impact the picture.

I've been wondering about those things as well, but was too embarrassed to ask.
What I've always wanted to know is: what does it mean when the lines are scrolling?
It seems that one or two subject titles always have the scrolling lines, while the rest are motionless.

Side note: Hey, ARKQX33V6, don't feel bad about your "limitations".
I know too what it's like to be getting on in years.
Last April (2010), I went for my annual physical, even though I felt great and healthy.
Surprise surprise, after an initial blood test that was way off the mark, and then a few more follow up tests,
I was positively diagnosed with prostate cancer. That was a wakeup call for sure.
Sucks to know I'm not invincible.
I had my prostate removed last November 18th, and so far so good. (I get re-tested every 3 months.) :mike
Message to anyone on this forum that's over 50: Get tested....please!.
Cheers. :bigthumb:

Make Chris.m's post a how to or a sticky. I didn't know how to post pictures until this post.

Thanks for the replies, guess the statement about no dumb questions is true, I 've copied the tutorial on pix and will try.

That really is a wake up call, prostate cancer!

At 65 years old next month, my doctor seems more interested in my rear end. The magic finger seems to tell them a lot more than other tests and it's a great way to be introduced to a new doctor.. The colonoscopy is a favorite for people getting up in years and not any where as bad an exam as some tease about.

And here we complain about OBDII tests!

Stay healthy!!!!!
