I need help!!! I need a HARD top!!

whats up guys?

im going to try to get my D1 license at raceway park in may.unfortunately, they require a hard top.anyone know someone who can make one or anyplace i can get one made?if so, we're going to need 2 of them.one for me and one for george.

i thought i saw hubrenettes(SP?) viper with the top off it drifting around.. though he had a full halo roll cage... he had no top on

Can't you bypass the hardtop requirement with a halo roll cage?



If you can, I think that's the route you should take imo. Chances are it will be cheaper than getting 2 custom made hardtops done. If they still require one, check this site out: http://www.smoothline.com/index.php

Give them a call or shoot an e-mail to see if they can do something. They're out in PA. Hopefully they can get it done by May. If you manage to pull this off...you have to fill us in with the details (and pics)!

formula d and d1gp have different rules.chris forsberg had his hard top on during d1.

You said you needed a hard top, I suggested the most appropriate S13 hard top for drifting. Not off topic at all.

I have had 4 years of experience dealing with D1 and as the manager of the team Chris Forsberg drove for last year I know that D1 WILL NOT allow you to run without a hardtop. Period. No exceptions....doesn't matter who you are.

FD will require a hardtop in 2007 as well.

Forsberg removed the soft top obviously and used it as a mold to make the hard top he currently has. It is just a thin FG shell that mounts to the cage. No frills, but it works.

btw chris - is Etown going to allow D1 licensing anyway? Where would that be? I guess the new track area they are building?

I know that e-town always posts that D1 might come...but every year, it's a no go. I wonder if that will change this year...?

D1 is still going down as of now. i hope i can get my hardtop before then..
