Why not start with a quote from the dealer?Keep in mind that your life can depend on your brakes. If some lower priced #sshole screws it up, NICO could end up with one fewer member.I don't mean to scare you but I've found in my experience that some independent shops charge rates almost as much as a dealer and may hire incompetent people that either use cheap or incorrect parts. Just my $.02

Before you get a dealer quote from service, get quotes from the parts department for pads and rotors. In many cases purchasing the parts yourself & then paying the dealer the labor charge can save you money because many dealer parts departments markup prices to the service department which in turn charge the customer more.

In the US, you can buy the rotors and pads from Tire Rack at possibly one of the best prices around. Also, they have numerous reviews of their products and will give you telephone support and answers. I would then take my car to a trusted mechanic... remember, the operative term here is trusted/good mechanic and not Juan's Bar, Grill, Wedding Dresses and Chainsaw store. If the car is under warranty, the dealer would be your best bet for the repairs.

All 350Z tracks have them

and all 03-04 6MT coupes!

in 05-06 (07 coupe) Sedan and coupes... They increased the brake setup size for better stopping, so they didn't have them as a option.

Now the 08 coups with the Sport package (i think auto and manual) will get the brembos

Just replace them yourself. Why waste the money on having someone else do it.

I know when to send my car to a mechanic and when to do it myself. Brakes are a DIY job. Clutches??? ewww.

The Upgraded brake option is reported to be manufactured Akebono.

"Further, the G37S offers the LSD and an available six-speed manual and four-wheel steering like its sedan counterpart, but takes it a notch higher by adding stiffer springs and dampers, larger anti-roll bars, a quicker 14.7:1 steering ratio, 19-inch wheels with 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Bridgestones, and an Akebono brake system that supersedes the previous Brembo unit. Infiniti touts the rotors-14.0 inches front and 13.8 inches rear-as the largest in the segment and doesn't shy away from bragging about the four-piston front and two-piston rear aluminum calipers, either."

Keep in mind not every one has a driveway, garage, tools, time, mechanical aptitude etc.

Agreed, but I don't consider myself exceptionally intelligent and I can do it.

I also don't have a garage. I have a cool little toolset with SAE, Metric and a bunch of screw driver ends that I got for Christmas years ago.

I bought myself a jack set which came with jack stands and Autozone sells or loans a brake piston compression tool. It costs all of $30 if you want to keep it. I did, for the hell of it.

I also used to live in an apartment where you weren't even allowed to wash your car there let alone do mechanical work so I headed over to my dad's house or my in-law's to do the work.

I just don't like people complaining about their high mechanical bills when they aren't willing to do the work themselves and save some money (no incinuations here).
