I need help finding a transmission!!!

I have a 200SX-SER, and I need a transmission. I don't want a used one b/c the problem I'm having is a common one so I don't want to have to deal w/ this again in the near future. Does ANYONE know where I can find a reman. or rebuilt transmission that's not an outrageous price. Where I'm from, there are none and I've looked on the net and can only find 1 below $1000. I don't know if I'm not looking in the right places or what, but I would REALLY appreciate the help. If there's a good place for aftermarket Nissan parts let me know b/c the whole car seems to be falling apart. The exhaust needs replaced also.

Whats the common problem you are having? There are only two that I know of. 1 is for the older sentra se-r trannys that have 5th gear pop out and the other is making more than 300hp and then you begin to destroy gears. I say get a used transmission and move on. You should be able to find one for less than $250.

the problem i'm having is that 5th gear is completely gone. there's no grinding when i try and put it in 5th, it's just not there. i've been told it's so many different things, i'm not sure what to think. the mechanic that looked at it said that it's not the synchronizer, which is what we thought it was b/c we found a site about nissans that said that year of my car had a lot of problems w/ the synchronizers, but they were never recalled. the problem is that where i live there isn't anyone who's ever worked on this car, most of them are "american made" mechanics who know very little about imports. any more i'm just lost. help me. do you have any idea what is actually wrong w/ my car? oh, and one thing that worries me about getting a used transmission is the fact that these cars are usually driven by people my age who may not treat them very well (which was the case w/ my car) and i don't want to get a transmission that someone beat on and i will only have problems with. do you know of a good place to get one that is cheap enough w/ a warranty or something? if i could get one for $250 like you said, i'd give it some serious thought, b/c i sure don't have $1000 to put into the car right now. anyway, i'd really appreciate the help.
