Dear Nissan motor Co.,

I have been dealing with Troncalli Nissan since October 23, 2006. The sales representative I have been dealing with very unsuccessfully is Elena Stephens. I have accumulated many documents over the past two months but still have no car (including a document with the serial # 3N1BC13E17L387140 of a car I put a deposit on that her dealership "lost"). I am trying to purchase a 2007 Nissan Versa.

I would like it in Magnetic Gray, Charcoal cloth interior, 6-speed manual transmission, with the ABS and Power package. If need be, I am willing to take Brilliant Silver or Fresh Power to speed things up.

I have given up talking to Elena as she was supposed to call me back, but never did and then sent me an e-mail telling me she will be out of the office until next week.

I have been told for weeks that I am going to get my requested car. I will forward you in PDF form an e-mail history so you can see how  the dates keep getting pushed back again and again and again. Now I am being told that I can have a blue car on Friday, 12/22.

I do not wish to have a blue car. Additionally, we will be on our way to Florida at that time and it will be of no use to me to receive the car so late. I thought that coming into the dealership almost two months before Christmas to buy a car would not cause problems with our Christmas plans.

Although the dealership has offered me a small discount on the car and to pay for some of my rental car, which we have been driving for five weeks now, it does not outweigh the inconvenience we have suffered in what we had hoped would be a simple process.

I implore you to find me the car I want before Dec. 22. Please contact me as soon as possilble to resolve this matter.

Sincerely,

Michael

Is this a letter you have sent to nissan?

You could always try calling 1-800-NISSAN1, though there's probably not a lot they can do at this point.

Versa S models are not terribly hard to find, have you tried seeing if another dealership has it or can get it? If so, have you tried getting your deposit back from the dealership you have been working with?

Did you actually give them a car in trade already? (please tell me no... you NEVER give up your trade until the day your new car is delivered, because the dealership CAN sell your trade out from under you and leave you without a car)

Try Town Center Nissan. I e-mailed Costco on 11/11/06 and heard from a salesman in 90 minutes. I went up there next day and left with a new car in under 3 hours. That day they had 3 in stock, 2 greys and a blue. After reading the forum at least once a day since my purchase, I consider myself extremely lucky.

If this is a letter you wrote to Nissan, then you're on the right path. You should also give them a call just in case your letter gets "lost" in the mail. If enough complaints are field against a dealer, they could lose their certification. I'd go and get my deposit back. Yes you may need a car asap and you've been working with this dealer for a while, but it really doesn't make sense to give business to something you has angered you so much you have to right a letter to the manufacturer. Like I've said in other postings, it is impossible for a dealer to just lose a car. Now it is possible for a dealer to trade or sale your car to another person willing to pay more.

Finding the S isn't hard, but it may be hard to find one with ABS. I gave up on trying to get one in that configuration and had one ordered by a dealer. Try to work with multiple dealers in your area to help you locate one that may already exist. The more people you have looking, the better your odds of being satisfied.

I dunno where you are in Atlanta exactly, but Union City and I think morrow were good dealerships, and they've both got stock now I think. Check the nissanusa website.

My dealer, Howerton Nissan, in d!ck, TN (just west of Nashville) has several S's in stock - white, red, saphire, and a red and grey SL (the grey one's not even unpacked yet !)

I have no idea what the configuration of any of the S models is, but the grey SL has CVT and Convience Pkg. if anyone's interested...... $17,205 IIRC.

If you want to give 'em a call, ask for Don Underhill (been sellin' Datsuns/Nissans for about 100 years ) and tell him Paula sent you - (615) 446-7070.

OH.... by the way..... Mom and I both bought our V's from Don. The dealer took both our trades on the same day and GAVE each of us a loaner Sentra off the lot. I got my V 3 days later. 7 WEEKS later (all the while driving the loaner Sentra (for no charge)) Mom got hers. Mine came from Little Rock. The one they went after for Mom in MS got sold before the driver got there.
