That's a nice cooler...but if I KNEW I'd be making that much horsepower, I'd go all out with a custom spearco job.

Man, I am trying to spend as little as possible. I know thats kind of a contradiction of terms when dealing with 500+rwhp. But I am going to keep the whole thing below $5k. Beleive it or not :) I am buying all quality stuff, im just steadily trying to get the best bang for the buck. Spearco like that would cost me what like $700 ? just for the IC ?

Yeah, your probably pretty close...I've heard really good things about that hybrid intercooler and if it had been that price when I bought my IC...I would have gotten the hybrid! But alas...too late now. If you get it, let me know how it works at higher power levels.

Right :rolls eyes: All luck. There's a reason that Chris May had around $20-25k invested in his car for 420 hp.

Dood $20K ????? WTF did he buy a gold plated turbo ? and like platinum manifold ? ? thats is way too much money for 420hp ! what the hell could he have possibly bought ? ive seen stock block/head sr20 go 539rwhp. its kewl tho doubt me, i love it. It only makes it that much better when its over !

peace !

the highest stock KA i've seen was 400rwhp with a full stand alone. so in ur case lets seepistons/rings-$500rods-800machine work to block (.020 over for pistons)-$?other rebuild stuff-$300 at leastturbo kit -$2500 maybestand alone - $1000+injectors/fuel rail -$500 clutch-$400cooling (rad and fans) - $500nitrous kit if u plan on it-$500-1000

doin all the labor youself your looking at at least $6k if everything goes right at the very least

Yeah something like that.......Pistons/rings $500Rods $680But "turbo kit" is like 1800 (not really a kit)Complete fuel is under $1k I wasnt actually counting the clutch being that its a necessityI was thinking about a aluminum raditor, but im hearing the stock is plentyI do like the ideas of the FAL fansand then like the post says FMIC/piping/BOVAbsolutly no n20Machine work (friends shop) :)Yeah i guess i wasnt keeping track its gonna be $6k+But its a far cry from $20k and it will still be 550rwhp ! and i will almost guarantee you cant get it for cheaper (without n20) ! which is my original point ;)

Peace

yea i dont think it could get cheaper but its about right with no labor. chirs mays car was so expensive cuz he paid for labor, body kit, suspension, wheels, brakes, he had his head ported too on the first engine. also a custom flywheel and 300zx clutch made to fit. jsut remember stuff never goes exactly as planned

It doesn't even go CLOSE to the way it was planned usually.

Exactly. It will be all the little crap that adds up, lines, fittings, couplers, etc. Good luck with a fuel system that can support 550 to the wheels for $1000. All I have to say is good LUCK.

Fuel is no prob I got the Walbro 255lph form my old Z and a aeromotive boost sensitive reg. Im working with JWT on a prototype ECU for #96lb injectors and they machine the injectors so i can use the stock fuel rail. They are going to send me a base line ECU so i can get to their dyno then we will make ECU changes till its correct.

They've been talking about making a 96# ecu for a while...it'll be cool if they actually do it now! You can try to just ignore me, I'm a bit of a pessismist when it comes to this damn car of mine, it never goes according to the plan/schedule.

I will definitely let you guys know how it goes ! Actually i see you have a 91 do you know where i can get an 91 ECU ? i need one so i can still drive my car while they program.

Hmmmm, I'll see if I can get one for a ridiculously cheap price from the junkyard in a few minutes since I'm going anyway...stranger things have happened at the U-Pull-It.
