Hey guys and gals, I need to know how to adjust my clutch pedal engagement. People have written somewhat understandable instructions, but if anyone has pics of the process that would be great. Thanks.

Yeah, well I just adjusted my clutch engagement. It was real easy and took me about 5 minutes, I was just skeptical about doing it because the last time I tried to do something by following a DIY I tried replacing my knock sensor and the bastard is still sitting in my living room. It was a breeze taking it out, but putting it back in was a different story. Well thanks for the motivational shame. It helped me man up and do this.

Yup only one nut to loosen, I pointed it out twice because you couldn't see it well in one of the pics. I had a new clutch put in and when I got my S14 back it slipped real bad at about 3250-3500 rpms, I contacted the guys and they said it was a weak clutch, I thought it was BS so I found some pic-less info on here and fixed it. I took some pics for everyones viewing pleasure. Key words : 240SX, S14, S13, new clutch slipping, clutch engagement adjustment, clutch pedal adjust.

You want to turn it counter clockwise, I turned it one full revolution and drove around and then turned it about a quarter turn more to get it just right. Every car will be different, so start with one and adjust from there. Hope this helps you out, let me know how it goes.

The clutch pedal adjustment rod has a slot cut in it for a wrench. Loosen the nut (12mm?) and use a open end wrench ) (6 or 7mm?). CCW makes the clutch engage further down the pedal travel. CW is the opposite.

The manual says adjust free play in the pedal to 1-3mm.

Just be careful not to adjust too tight else the clutch will slip. My son did that to his, and he burned out the old clutch. Just finished installing a new one, a lot of work my friend...

sorry to dig up from the dead... my new clutch is slipping, i was told i need to adjust the clutch, i kept scratching my head.. so i came here... what should i be doing exactly? I have an s13. Saw the picture but... trying to make sense of it. It's just clutch pedal adjustment then? Up and down? Or?... someone shed some light on that.

It's an xtd stage 3 clutch kit 6puck cerametallic (lol made in china) with the 10lbs flywheel...

Since installing it i relatively baby'd it. Drove it for distances, traffic, etc... However little change, now still if i push it, it slips, can not really rev and drop the clutch, its useless... it was quite bad that even when i downshifted into a corner instead of gripping it slipped (the clutch itself). Taking a set of corners the clutch slips? One would think the car would oversteer instead lmao... how lame!

If the clutch engages with minimal pedal pushing then you are likely slipping so adjust. Loosen the locknut on the clutch pedal shaft, turn ccw a few turns. Then lock it, try it and readjust as needed.

CW or CCW facing which way? Looking at the rod (inside of the car), I spun it to the right (CW) and that is what adjusted it further down. CCW for me makes it higher.
