Is there something I can buy/add to my stock QX4 to get better gas mileage? im getting roughly 17/18 mpg (Highway) driving the normal speed limit!

Can i increase this to about 20-24 without HEAVY mods?

ThanksMike

what's the stock MPG spec?

going from 17~18 to 20-24 would be VERY significant providing that there's nothing wrong with your Q right now.

Noting wrong with it..just wanted some options for "Better" gas mileage...Reason i asked is because I just relocated andnow I have to commute 90 miles ONE WAY...so gas can get VERY expensive!

I was just at the dealership and noticed that the highway mileage is rated at 19, which I was kinda surprised at since the Q and M45 are both rated at 23. I think it is your hight and the tire size that is killing you...ever think about buying a 95' Sentra to commute in????

The 2k2 QX4 is an awesome vehicle. But like all other powerful SUV's its not a gas saver.

The only defenses you have against the milage typical of those vehicles is

a) make sure you keep it in <perfect> tune, perhaps a new fuel filter and airfilter wouldnt hurt despitie its relative newness.b) Go slowc) Buy a $3000 95 Sentra just for commuting.d) running a full synthetic oil will give tyou <some> mpg imrovement, hard to say how much.

Be sure to not fall for those "Tornado fuel saver" (and similiar) scams.

Fred..:)

Im actually looking around for a commuter car as i type this...Something like the Honda Accords (90-93). Nissan Sentras are also being considered.

I mainly want for this new commuter car to get Excellent Gas mileage and RUN for a long time!

I'm going to try and GARAGE the QX4 and make it a weekend car.

You running premium fuel? If not that'll lower your gas mileage.

The G20 is also an excellent commuting car and you'll still have some style and luxury features to boot!
