Hey everyone. As much as I would love to keep my 240 and pour tons of money into it I just dont have the time. Not to mention my last accident did a number on my knee and clutching all the time is not helping.

What cars that are NOT new are good to get. I want something with good power stock and is also an automatic.

Ummm...any other preferences at all? Coupe? Sedan? Price range?

Also, what do you consider "good power"?

sorry I should have added that in. I dont want an auto 240, the transmission just wouldnt handle what I would throw out. I want a coupe or a convertable. I will settle for a manual but I think its just time I move on from a 240 well at least the s13. I was thinking the possiblility of a 97 or 98, but am still unsure if I want to stick with a 240 or get something else.

Subaru SVX, Z32, Miata if you can find one with an auto.

I was thinking the Z32 also. the miata is too small for me. I like how the suburu looks, looks like it was also off the same body frame as the DSM's. -thanks

A buddy of mine is finnishing up his TT swap. Actually has been pretty cheap (like under $3k w/ engine, rebuilt bottom end, new T28s, etc)

Thats pretty clean. The N/A Z is still a fun car. I don't like the dash cover that one has though and the cut valance and broken tail light. I would give 5500-6000 for it though. Is still very clean despite the flaws.

the 240sx automatic transmission is tougher then anything to break. I know someone before they did their 5spd swap, they nuetral dropped the sucker 300+ times and ti STILL didn't break. He even dropped it at 5K and it didn't break or slip. The transmission also had 131,00 miles on it! Same transmission as a RB20 SKYLINE

if you want a good auto car. IS300 has proven to be good in auto. Price range would help too.

Automatics should never be mated to n/a four cylinder engines

What you need is a 90-94' Maxima automatic. Mmmm... VG :D

I'd seriously check out an N/A Z32 if it's in your budget. IMO, it's a nicer looking car than the SVX. In the SVX's favor, all of them were automatics, so that shouldn't be a problem. It might actually be hard finding an SVX...there aren't a ton of 'em out there.

I could be wrong, but aren't the chances of finding an automatic MR2 Turbo and an auto RX7 pretty slim? Also, the chances of finding a good Celica All-Trac are pretty slim, auto or not (at least where I live).

I personally find the Del Sol somewhat unispiring, but I suppose one of those wouldn't be that hard to find.

the MR2 wont be too hard to find in a automotice, maybe not a turbo, but still a cool car.

the celica all trac is rare enough as is, i just love that car

and then RX7 should be too hard, those are also convertable and look good as a convertable.

Yeah, I've never seen an MR2 Turbo with an automatic. Are there really a lot of auto RX7's out there?

Well like he said all the convertables were auto. Not really sure about the rest. Probly as common as the Miata auto.

OK, I didn't quite follow that last bit about the RX7. I get it now.

Yes the Max is an excellent choice. 90-94s are cool, but my vote is for the 4th gen(94.5-99).

I say try and find a DOHC '91-'94 Max :)

Those suckers are beasts. They are lighter than the 4th gens, and have just a few horses less. With a few basic bolt-ons, you would be outrunning those heavy 4th gens :D

^What he said.

Although Ill still say get a 4th gen since they look nicer and I drive one but, the 3rd gens are lighter, have slightly less hp, and they also have a better suspension. My mom had an Auto SE and that thing stuck on the curves.

Old skool goodness.
