project #1 new tires - i have 225-50-17 falken z512's. i'm thinking about going 245-40-17? will it work? or what will work best?
project #2 new grille - i want to go with the 2002 i35 grille. where can i get the best price?
project #3 paint calipers - red..ha..ha...will i mess something up....
i love the car...gonna spend my tax refund on it.....i cranked it up last night..ran 120mph for 3 miles and it did not breath hard......big change from a 92 ford crown vic...lol....only one prob......when i pull behind a car at night they dont pull over any more..lol

Ok....
1. Factory rims are only 7" wide, so that limits the tire options. 245's are out of the picture as they are too wide. 235's are not within spec either, but others have used them with no issues.
2. Best bet would be a junk yard to find a wrecked I35 for the grille.
3. You can take the calipers off the car and paint them which is preferred, but too much work. You can mask off everything and paint the calipers that way, which is what most others do. I have known some that took the high-temp paint and sprayed it into the lid, then apply the paint with a paintbrush (they said you could not tell they did it that way) which would be the simplist way to do it.
120mph.... Isn't that normal traffic flow on 285 during pre-rush hour?

the home of diana de garmo...lol where everybody's somebody......you're right 285 55 speed limit is a joke ...i did 120 for about 5 miles on 78 yesterday.....damn car did not breath hard..lol
on the caliper paint ..i went to a parts store yesterday.....they had a kit...$21 brush on job.....24 hrs to set..lolgott pull out the bike....

Yeah, 78 can be interesting. I used to live between Loganville and Snellville at one point, tho I was mostly around the L'vill-Suwanee area. I used to travel 316 all the time to Athens (even when it was only partially built and ended in L'ville).
