Alright. So I may turbo this KA I have. I know I am going to be removing the stock internals replacing them with lower compression forged pistons and aftermarket rods.

1. Where is a good place to purchase these from?

Next. I am going to need injectors. I am thinking of going with nismo 550's. Is this a good idea or what? My HP goal is 400whp on 93 octane.

Next. Fuel managment. Who makes a stand alone FMU for this car/engine? I have researched all over and greddy only makes one for the OH SO EVER F*CKING POPULAR SR20. So any advice on this would be great.

Next. Turbo kits.

2. Which kit is getting the best feedback. Link me if possible.

Thanks again in advance for everything. I read this forum all the time and you guys are incredibly smart and talented. I am hoping you all can give me the information and advice I need.

Thanks in advance.

These are very good questions, however, it would be more helpful if you included information about your car, like year, base, SE, or LE, 5spd, Auto, how many miles, ect...You might want to do a compression test first of all to see if you have good compression stock, if so you might want to rethink your plans on building your engine, or you might want to still go ahead and build it just for safe measures. I know GREDDY makes a good reliable turbo kit for our motors, but they have it advertised for 1995 240sxs and up, but i think that is only because these years had obdII (if you search this topic "GREDDY Turbo Kit" Im sure youll find out the compatability with the s13 models). A lot of members have thrown together homemade turbo kits, that is where you pick out youre own turbo manifold, turbo, dump pipe, down pipe, exhaust, intercooler, intake, oil lines, bov, waste gate (if turbo is not internally wastegated), intercooler pipes, fuel management (safc 1 or 2, GREDDY emanage, and ECU tunes from companies such as Enthalpy) and other parts that owners feel that need to be replaced, or upgraded. The most popular route IMO is the homemade turbo kit. That way you can get all the parts you want, and not have to spend tons of money because some company put their name on the kit. You have a lot of options, but it would really help if you told us a little about your car, and what you plan on doing with it.

Oh, Sorry, its a 1991 5spd 240sx. And my goal is around 400hp. The people that are building turbo kits for themselves, where are they buying the parts from? I hadnt even seen any manifolds for this car that support a T3 flange.

Maybe I have just been looking in the wrong places.

There are a wide variety of T3 flanged manifolds, such as SSAutochrome, pheonix turbo, full-race, and revhard are the ones that i know of and have talked to people that have them. These manifold will range anywhere from 350-800 brand new, with the exception of the ssautochrome one, i believe brand new the T3 top mount manifold is 225. Intercooler, you can find on ebay along with the pipes, turbo you can buy used, or brand new from about anywhere (there are some places that people have had bad experiences with, such as boostdesigns, and turbonetics i believe, you can easily find turbos about anywhere on the net), bovs can be found on ebay, or other stores on the net (google a specific bov and youll get plenty of results), oil lines can be peiced together (see sticky of info you need to know), oil pan will need to be welded by a local welder or by some other means, vacum lines are sold at local autozone and such stores, intakes can be found on ebay, and so can everything else. What you really have to do is search around for peices, look at ads that are selling turbo kits and look at what they are selling, make a check list, and start gathering parts. 555cc injectors from Nismo will be ok, if you want something with room that you will not get anywhere near maxing out i would go with 740s, or 750s. If you have any other questions please ask.
