I took my 82 720 4x4 rock climbing and bent the rear adjusting/ mounting bracket for the torsion bar on the drivers side, leaving the torsion bar hanging from front suspension. I then removed the front torsion bar mounting bracket from the lower A-arm to prevent further damage because I was in the middle of a 15 mile one way off road trail. So now my baby is sagging badly on the front driver's side. I just need to know if the drivers side tire is sitting farther towards rear of the truck because the torsion bar is missing or did I really screw up some other front end component? I'm also having one hell of a hard time finding a torsion bar for this truck. I actually only bent the bracket with the curved metal hooks that the adjusting bolt goes through. But I can't get the front or rear brackets off of the bar itself. I'm considering using a bar from a newer truck (which are easier to find at salvage yards) but the front mounting bracket to A-arm is different. Maybe I can use newer bar and just change front bracket? Any ideas? Parts leads? Info on crooked front end? I know it's sagging due to missing torsion bar, but does that explain the rearward movement the tire? Any and all help or info is appreciated guys... I do have pics of the trip and the damage if anyone is interested...
