Well, I don't need a radio but, Since I went to all the trouble of wiring up a new harness and hiding some pricey speakers, I figured I might as well make use of them.
I recently purchased a Sanyo MAR-B1021 cassette deck for my 620. The dash is very sanitary, and I don't want to cut it up! (Besides, I've got boxes full of the lamest 25 year old cassette tapes you could imagine and I'm just dying to hear them squeal one last time before they stretch out and break!)
I actually bought two decks. The first one had no sound output. The second had no left channel output. The shop where I got it gave me the run around about replacing it so, I contacted Sanyo U.S. directly. (818) 998-7322 I was told that they discontinued making dual shaft cassette decks last year, and now they are totally out of stock.
No one else makes any anymore, either. Except that Custom Audio shop that sells re-boxed Kenwoods with "Ford Falcon" or bowties emblazoned on 'em at $300+ a pop.
Does anyone have a working, digital, shaft knobed, cassette radio they want to part with?
Otherwise I'll just have to wait for Santa to leave me one of those nifty hidden audio systems, and a stock push-button Datsun AM unit to plug the hole in my dash.
Thanx,
~phiz
