assuming that the stock rods and pistons out of my block check out okay, i can reuse the pistons. what about the rings, i know i can reuse the rods. i'm about to start rebuilding a block for low boost, 250-275 hp max, i don't want to push it on stock pistons, and don't want to purchase forged ones at the moment.

engine guru's please help. i'm trying to join the ranks of the ka-t

always replace the rings when you pull the pistons. new rings = cylinder hone, so dont forget to do that. yes, new bearings are a must as well.

cleavites are already on the list, as well as a cylinder hone even though you can still see the factory crosshatching on the walls, but i was unsure about the rings.

ussil80- the stock rods will be more than sufficient for my goals.

there is a plateau on the crosshatching and will not bed the new rings in for a Looong time. Take your time with everything--use good micrometers and a quality torque wrench. Clean=HP

Make sure you square up the new rings in the bore and measure the ring gap!!
