Post

I just purchased a 1996 240 with an SR20det redtop swap. The car runs great but after spirited driving around town, stopping and going, it tends to warm up on me. My friend who is has had similar issues says it is because the car still has the stock radiator. Is this my problem and if so any suggestions on where to look for a good fit. Thanks for any comments.

I got mine off ebay. Can't remember the name of the seller but they have them for the sr's and the ka's. I still have a ka so mine was like $140 total. I think the sr rad. was like 120 or something. they are dual core which is what you need imo. You can also buy them with the elctric fans as a whole package. these things are great. I owned a Koyo a while back and the only diff in it and this one is the PRICE and the koyo was a little bit shinyer.

The car has the stock 240sx radiator in it? Yes, switch to an aluminum unit and you should see a drop in temperatures. I would say AT LEAST 90% of people buy a new radiator when they do the swap, I guess the guy you bought it from just tried to cut costs.

any particular brands to look for or stay away from? I want to do it right without spending too much money.
