Hey guys,

I have searched and searched. I am in need of a map for a KA24DET for a megasquirt. I have the Ford EDIS ignition set-up as well so I need one with timing vaues. Any help very much appreciated.

Your fuel map generates itself. You plug in your injector size, and your engine displacement. At that point you will get a fuel map. Then lean out the map 5-10 percent and you should be able to start it as long as everything else is right.

Timing map should be set very close to stock and you take out timing past 6-7 psi of boost. Start with 1 degree retard to each one psi of boost past 7 psi. Keep adding 1-2 psi of boost and checking your tune.

Not quite true. It's also going to ask for your horsepower and torque, which you probably don't have a clue about what your going to end up with. What i did was generated a fuel map with the using the factory TQ & HP numbers, but with an upper KPA limit of 200. Then i just typed in what ended up being some ridiculously rich numbers through the boost range.

It's much easier to lean it out, then it is to blow the engine.

Also for Timing, you can use the stock map and just take out some timing later. I borrowed my timing map from Eviltom on the .org who i bought my turbo from. he's got an AEM unit, but just convert the timing values from PSI to kpa and they work fine. I noticed his table was MUCH smoother then the "factory" timing table you can find online. Either search for him or email me and i can send you the timing.

Err i forgot to add that you still have to tune it after MS generates the map. The auto generate map just gives you a starting point to get the car running.

lol, that's a given. i just wanted to make sure to warn about the boost values. Better safe then sorry right?

True enough. I actually just caught the fact that you said that the auto map generator asks for HP/TQ. That must be a new(to me!) function of MS2 extra. When i ran MS2 the Extra code had not come out yet.

Man i want another freaken 240 for a Ka-T MS powered strip car. MS was soo much fun to work with, i remember when i got it running the first time(back when no one else has MS2 running on a Ka). I seriously got it running, and was jumping around for 5 min acting generally retarded.

The math at that point would just be ridiculous though. Idk how im going to add up three 240's, prly going to have to send the equation out to NASA.
