I've owned plenty of 240's and Im in the midst of a ka-t project right now, that im currently selling due to lack of funds. I want to stay with Nissan but I've got a Small block chevy motor already .30 over and soon to have an Eagle 383 kit shoved in her, with some Vortec heads, but my main question is can I stuff this thing into a pre 1990' 300zx? They are dirt cheap everywhere and I would love to grab one, but I want to know can it be done? Will it be over my head? Ive done a few motor swaps before but just pretty straight forward. I dont have a transmission selected yet, I could go with a turbo350 or a 6 speed with bellhousing converter to mate up to my SBC. You Z guys tell me what you think.

I thought the 383 required a .40 overbore?anyhow yup it's been done, if you are capable of basic fab work you'll have no trouble, as for trans, might i suggest the T-5, as I believe the output shaft and mount will work witht he crossmsmber and driveshaft from the 84-87 T 5 equipped turbo models

I'm kind of familiar with the s30 body style conversions.

They have a really good kit for dropping chevy and ford v8's into the s30 body.

s30 > z31 IMO

As with any stroker your just increasing the stroke of the motor, You dont need an overbore at all if you didnt run into clearancing issues, and some guys who run 400 cranks, will use 400 stock rods in conjunction with 350 pistons and get away with a stock bore, but my motors already a 355 and .30 over so no worries on my end.
