Hwy or city Telco??
Like I said...this is ALL city/burbs driving.
Highway
My daily commute is 100 mi per day all highway. If I use my G over a weekend & then calculate MPG I will usually see a drop of 2-3 MPG vs a 3 day calulation of a 300 mile commute which usually calculates in a 25MPG result
I have a record of my MPG on every fillup since I purchased my G on 12/31/05
My MPG has improved since I went over 50k miles.
My fillups and MPG for November 08 are24.60, 25.5125.41
My fillups and MPG for November 07 with 42k miles are21.3323.5521.6622.0222.10
My fillups and MPG for November 06 with 14k miles are
23.5821.1522.9022.6820.63
My best MPG was on a couple of tank fillups between between Va & SC 26.58 MPG and SC & Florida 28.83 in June 07 with 27k miles on my G
My MPG tends to drop a couple of MPGs in cold weather. The only consistant way to monitor the MPG on your G is to fillup and record the mileage. On the next fillup divide the gallons it took into the miles traveled and record the results. You cannot obtain accurate readings on a readout on a screen on the dash.If I were do do any mods, I would compare MPG results after the mods with MPG results prior to the mods. I suspect that some of those getting the worst MPG who performed mods may have hurt their MPG but without accurate MPG data before & after it is difficult to prove?
The 6sp manuals also obtain a few more MPGs than the automatics and AWD.
What is amazing to me is my 06 G gets approximately the same 25 MPG as my 69 VW 50HP beedle 4 sp manual whose weight was less than 2k lbs and had no A/C or emission controls.
I also believe that using 87 octane improves mileage with perhaps a slight loss in hp? Can't be sure because I've never used premium?
