Why do you think its bad. You can take a ohm meter and test the resister and you will know without buying one. Take the resister buy a shop and ask if they would test. Some of us techs will do it just to show off.

Rs12 thanks for the link* I had just been looking up "dropping resistor" on ebay so I had never even seen those! Well I know for a fact mine is destroyed, it grounded out by my battery via a wire that became detached and the thing almost melted itself, so pretty sure it's "fried". DOH But yeah I guess I should figure on getting a credit card and paypal account setup because all I have ever used my whole life has been cash. Thanks for the help all
