im sure this topic has been brought up before but i really donthave time right now to find it...can you guys list me what partsare cross compatable with the SR20det that can be found herein the states.
these are the parts i need info on...
1)water pump (will the SR20de pump work...they look ALOT alike)2)O2 sensors3)Gasgets for the exhaust, intake, and turbo manifolds4)clutch5)Oil filters6)belts
all these parts need to be listed for a Red Top 180sx SR20det
id really appreciate responses here...im really pressed for time

The topic has been brought up before, and there's not very much information out there on USDM -> JDM compitibilities. I can tell you that the USDM water pump will NOT work on the SR20DET.
The main bearings, journal bearings and thrust washers for the bottom end are the same.
The knock sensor from the 92 SR20DE does work.
The 02 sensor from the 92 SR20DE does work.
The timing chain kit for the 92 SR20DE does work.

okay, a few members here claim that the KA thermostats are compatible with the SR20DET. Also, the NISMO thermostat can be used on both KA and SR.
However, Heavy Throttle claims that the thermostats on the two engines are totally different and cannot be cross mastched.
what the hell?
Can I buy a thermostat from a part store for the KA and use it on the SR???

Water Pump, not sure but Phase2Motorsports, HT and other places sell them new for good prices.
02 Sensor > 86 300ZX
Gaskets for exhaust between cat and dp is same as 240SX
Exhaust manifold gasket is same as SR20DE
02 extension to turbo gasket may be same as 300ZX TT
02 extension to dp gasket may be compatible with some but I just got one from heavy throttle real cheap
Clutch>1984-1989 Nissan Maxima
Oil Filters> B13 Sentra SER, if you have an S14 SR its a B14 SER
Belts are pretty universal, just measure the size and find one with the proper amount of ridges, the length can vary a little bit because thats what the adjustable tensioners are there for.

Plugs from B13 Sentra SER.
Oil, 10W30 Synth for most locations.

Well then go down to the dealership and buy one, or you could just order the actual one from HT, Phase2 or numerous other companies. The whole will this part crossover question has gotten old, mainly because you really can get the real JDM SR20DET parts from HT, Phase2, Jspec, etc...etc... for cheaper than the dealer in most instances. Or just go aftermarket.
