That's only gonna happen if you find someone that needs to get rid of one (not a major dealer). And even then It may be missing parts.

check out this thread

and factor in shipping.

There is a site that sells a swap for under a grand, but it is not reccommended. Nothing but missing parts from them, cant remember who it is though, which is why I say to check back with us before you make a decision.

Most CA setups you get for that price is going to be missing parts, and will probabaly have some sort of internal damage, most likely bad rings.

Not to mention, you don't just buy the motorset and drop it in. There are MANY hidden expenses that add up extremely fast. Clutch, downpipe, belts, hoses, fluids, misc nuts/bolts etc... Take the cost of the motor and get ready to spend an additional $300-500.

You get what you pay for. Just save a little more and get a complete set-up. I got everything I needed plus extra performance parts from jhot for $1450 shipped to the door.

If you need a running car... dont get into a CA swap, or u will prolly end up selling your car.

Save it for when u can afford the downtime and costs

Dont get discouraged thou, stick around for advice once u can get thigns underway.

Like everyone says, it like $900 before shipping and all that other bull****. Then you have to actually put it in the car.

You didnt read why its being discouraged. The OP needs a running car, and wants to keep it super cheap so he (or she?) can have their car back i assume. I motor swap from one type to another is not something you'd do if you need your car back quickly and cheaply.

If you have time, another car, help, friends who work for beer, and most of the money you'll need... then ANY swap can be a good idea. Want something quick and easy? turbo charge a pulsar SE like mine... they go good! jsut make sure the bearings arent on their way out
