I think my turbo is done for. There is a lot of smoke coming from that area. Soooo I think I need a new one. Does any one have from either an SR or CA. Question. Does the SR turbo fit right on or do I have to buy a new manifold. I know thats a newbie question, but its such a newbie question that its not even on the forums.:)Thanks

Might as well get the one you have rebuilt. Dont even bother buying someone elses used CA or SR turbo because it wont last very long. Trust me, I have 5 turbos in my garage because thats what I did, I kept buying other peoples turbos when mine crapped out. Now im having one of them rebuilt and with a 1 year warranty :-)

buy a blown SR turbo if you're going to rebuild one... you can find them for like $40 or $50 blown, and they are somewhat of an upgrade over the stock CA one.

I guess I got lucky with Matt's (j-spec tuner) SR turbo because its in excellent shape:)

I've seen DIY kits on eBay for about a 100 bucks. It's not a ball-bearing so you can rebuid it yourself. But I think most places I saw like forced performance charge like 250 as a standard rebuild price.

What about the intake pipe? Do you have to get an SR one, because it sure as hell didn't fit on the CA one.

I just picked up another SR T25 today, it was on ebay but the guy was from Orlando and ended the auction early.

I didn't even bother taking the CA one to get rebuilt and the one SR T25 that I had taken to a closer shop quoted me $425, so I said F**k it, for a couple hundred more I could've gotten a new t28 but I'm not trying to spend too much money right now. Hopefully this one will do.
