I must be missing something (outter tie rod?)

Replacing my outer tie rods and I can't seem to get the tie rod off the steering arm. Everything (that I can see) has been removed, the nut holding the tie rod in place (that sits on top of the steering arm/spindle) has been removed, and I have my rubber mallet but nothing is separating the two. Is there something I'm missing? Seems like an easy enough job, read some guides, watched some videos and thought I was ready to go.

you have a pickle fork right?

Get a real hammer, and don't be afraid to smack it HARD.

I unscrewed the nut til it was level to the end of the bolt, jacked up the LCA and hit it once with a hammer.

No pickle forks. I used the remaining PB Blaster on it last night, tried again this morning and in my hungover rage was finally able to get them out. The passenger side came out no problem, the driver side on the other hand [shakes fists in anger]. Unfortunately with the Ohio weather these tie rods are basically fused in place, I'm searching for a heat gun to see if I can't make them easier to unscrew.

I hate it when easy jobs are made difficult. This is why I ask for tools every Christmas.

Easiest solution. Get a pickle fork and a 2 pound ball pean hammer. Don't be afraid to hit it hard.

A local parts store should have a frontend service kit you could rent.

Thanks, but I got em out awhile ago. I need to replace the ball joints next, those are going quickly + I have a brake fluid leak in the drivers side rear wheel that I need to find & fix.
