I might be insane? offset question

Well its the moment of truth....i just bought my rims and will be getting them soon.....I have a 1992 240sx hatch with Tein type s lowering springs and thats all for suspension mods...and the rims i got are 18x7.5 +38 for the front and 18x8.5 +35 in the rear.....Am i going to be an angry man or plesently suprised? If anyone knows tips on how to help me out or think they will fit let me kno.... Thanks

The rears will fit fine. They will possibly sit close to flush. I know that sport max 18x9" +35's are pretty close. The fronts, you'll probably want to run a spacer on. Rolling the fenders will probably be a good idea as well.

The rear will be fine, lots of room. It will also depend on what tyres you decide to put on the front rims, anything much wider than the wheel will rub the strut. When I had 7" wide rims with a 40 offset and 215 width tires they barely cleared the strut. You have gone a half inch wider (.25" toward the strut) but only changed the offset by .078" (2mm). ...course this all might be different on an S13.

Ps: If you are gonna go with spacers at least get them hub-centric and possibly bolt them to the rim. Usually spacers = teh suck.

So what kind of tires do you recomend i get that will require the least fabricating......

well, since you have your rim's already, i suggest you put one on and measure how much room you have.

if the rim clears your suspension just BARELY, you may want to get 215's (very slightly stretched) or even 205's

if you run spacers, you can play with wider rubber choices.
