that's their claim to fame! do youknow how it would actually be in the real world and not on paper and " in-house" tests??? seems pretty cool though... ijust wonder if it will really withstand all that beating

you are right but again it is underneath the car... you never know... there is a reasin why they made the OEM out of metal... dunno.... has anyone you know got one already? it looks like a brand new company.. check into it.. see if people have them and see what they think of them.. how they last on the car... if they make one for our cars.. I might buy one... just to have one... dunno.. but it has to hold up like OEM...

I have a friend getting them for his F250 and If it holds up to him it can hold up to anything I'm going to contact them about making one for our cars and see so we might have to get a certain number that wants them and we can get them

I don't dispute it's kind of cool but anybody who has been "wheelin" knows funky stuff happens. I would definately roll it on the street though with some funky colored diff lube.

Well, on a car that theory would hold true...until you backed into a stump ir something.

But, on a 4X4 (especially solid front axle trucks) you have a diff cover facing front and one facing rear. The off-road use would destroy that thing. I"ve been an avid 4X4 owner, user, and abuser since I was 16... and if you've ever spent anytime on nasty terrain... you'd know how easy it is to drag the rear and front diff across rocks, stumps, other vehicles, small woodland creatures etc. etc. Plus, you're always backing up to try to overcome obstacles.

It would be good for show... and the coolness factor, but entirely impractical. Besides, the metal diff cover probably adds to the structural rigidity of the entire diff.... just a thought.:rolleyes

acrylic block! I'm sure with todays high tech polymers it could be done. You woudn't need a borescope!

that'd be a cool touch for a show vehicle. Or if you wanna take it easy off road.

the stock sheetmetal covers are weak as well, I think the plastic (being that thick) would be a lot stronger. The difference is if you bang the metal it would bend, the plastic has more tensile strength but when it reaches it load limit it will break, not bend.

I guess it just depends on how hard you want to push it towards it's breaking point.

Paul

BTW I've already seen clear valvecovers on show cars
