I was gettin the eibach springs installed and the guy noticed the "eibachs" had the same markings as the stock springs. Not to mention there was no "eibach" logo on the springs itself, which I wasn't looking for since I didn't know they out their label on the springs.

He lined both springs up an the looked pretty much the same height. Is there a slight chance that that's how the eibach springs actually look like? Or did I just screw myself out of 130 dollars?

Update: Beware of Smush3191 thread.

They're the same color as stock springs but they have an eibach logo on them. Compare the rear springs if there's no difference then yeah..

You can see a noticeable difference. The Eibach should have the Eibach logo and also the part number etched into it.

Who did you buy them from? Forum member? If so, get Greg in here. You would be amazed at what he and the forum mods are capable of.

He's a member on Nissan club. Or at least was because I try to find is for sale thread and it is gone, And for all I know he could be a guy with a fixed up Altima coupe but trying to make a quick buck. But I'm going to look into my call history book and see what his number is again. He had a 2.5 with the same matching color as my car but it was like 2008. I just wanted to make sure that all of their springs at logos which is sounds like it does according to you guys and the guy who was going to install my springs

I have brand new rear springs in my basement, and also stock ones. I'll take a pic so you know what you are looking for.

Eibach with logo and part number. Note that the part number is not just silk screened or printed into it, its color filled etch so you can feel it. The logo could wear off over time, but the etched part number is there forever.

Image

Eibach on left, stock on right. Its hard to tell from the pic but they are at least an inch different in height. Also note the Eibach has a progressive coil.

Progressive = not equal distance between the coils from bottom of the spring compared to top

How many times the spring actually coils around in a given distance, it changes the behavior of the spring. The top of the Eibach has 4 coils in the same distance the stock has 2.

Do you think he upgraded his springs and sold you his stockers in the eibach box? Sucks man. I know there's a lot of fake Teins floating around.

I actually found him. I got in contact with him and he's such a piece of s***. Heres what he said when I told him the situation

"Honestly I took them to a shop and they installed them for me and the car did lower more than stock height so i figured it was legit since they also gave me the box"

I told him to do the right thing and that I cant force him to pay me but more so do the honorable thing and heres what he had to say about that

"Im not that type of person. The best I can do is give you $70 (i paid $150) cause things have been difficult"

I reply "Dude and you dont think things have been difficult for me? Thats messed up. Im sure youd be just as pissed if you were me"

"Ok the best I can do is $80. Thats the risk of buying on craigslist and there are no refunds and people can easily get away with it"

So far he said hes going to pay pal me back the $80 plus keep the stock springs. I dont now his NissanClub user name....lucky for him.

Wait, so he is admitting to ripping you off and bargaining the price to pay you back? The exchange you typed above was hard to follow.

Blow this kids information up. You have more power here than you know.

Oh trust me, its not ending anytime soon.

But yea, I said the same exact thing. Basically it sounds like he planned this whole thing out. He's supposedly going to paypal me, but I told him I'm afraid hes going to flake. He said "if i wanted to flake then I wouldnt be going through all this and not respond to you"

Really? How do I know that? I've done business with you once and so far you've screwed me over every time haha

I found him on cragislist originally, then when we met he said he was on the nissan club and gave me his username. I forgot it since then, but, and heres the update, I found his username.

I'm doing this to warn you guys, not to start PM'ing him smack talking. OBviously, leave the "Beware of...." thread to me. He said he's going to paypal me by Weds, if not, Friday the latest. So thats why I'm taking, yet, another risk having him come on here, read this, then changing his mind. I'm going to contact the moderator too.

his username is smush3191. He only has 10 posts, two posts were within his Eibach sales thread. Looks like I took the bullet for alot of members on there :tisk:

I just bought some Eibach springs off of craigslist 2 days ago and when I read this I thought to myself oh shi* and instantly ran into my garage to see if they had the logo's and part numbers on them (I too know nothing about lowering springs so I didnt even look to check) and luckily they had them and the numbers where good. weeeew!

Sorry to hear about what happened, I tend to forget that maybe not everyone has integrity.
