OK. The car had some probs already, and I pushed it. It had water in the oil, and I drove it home anyway. It overheated before I got there. I know, I know. Head geasket, maybe a head. That is if I'm lucky. Question is, should I just go ahead and change the motor or fix the one I have? If I do change the motor, is the anyone here on the east coast that has one at a reasonable price? I'm in North Carolina. (By the way, the wife's gonna kill me if I don't get her baby up and running soon)

Hey, wassup, aint u on the airstation??? I checked around the area already when I had a leaking headgasket. I have a brand new timing chain and everything for sale if you want it. The headgasket kit is like 90$ at Autozone. It would be cheaper having your headgasket fixed. I think it was right below $800 for everthing. You should check around. People here suck and they always try to overcharge!

I'd at least go ahead and have a look inside if I were you. How badly did it overheat?

I'm not on the base, but I'm right across the highway from the shooting range (hope one of them doesn't get 180 out of sync and shoot towards my house). I'd be interested in talking to you about the timing chain and all. You can e-mail me if you like or simply add me to MSN IM. The addy's below. As far as how bad did it overheat? Well, bad enough to not want to start, and bad enough for it to barely crawl out of the road. The reason I'm pondering both are because I've got my '94 Golf sold and after paying off some things, I'll have about $500 on hand left over from that. Add to it what I can save over the next couple of weeks, and I should be able to do either. I've talked to the head mechanic at work and he's agreed to help me with which ever I choose, after I finish doing some electrical work at his place. Maybe the bill for this won't be as bad as I was anticipating. Either way though, I've got alot of work ahead of me.
