despite everyone preaching to get a clip instead of just a motor set i bought an incomplete s14 sr20. i was just being impulsive, no regrets though.:D <-- that is me being soo happy. there are some things i probably should have found out before i bought this, but do i need a boost sensor? will the ecu throw a cel or something if i don't have one? can you guys think of any other miscellaneous parts i might need? it looks like anything attached directly to the motor came with it.

thanks and HELP!

No. The ECU will not throw codes if you up the boost.

why does that matter? it's not like you're gonna be going thru emissions w/ it anyways lol

One thing that many people have mentioned with motor sets is damaged oilpans / oil pickups. Make sure that you check the pan for any dents, and if there are some... pull it off and make sure that the pickup is good.

From what I've seen of the disassembled engine, it seems to me that the most likely thing to happen is that the pickup would get bent, causing a crimp in the tube. I've only seen one engine taken apart though, and my pickup was fine (it came out of a clip).

Often the pickup are smashed up against the bottom of the oil pan, so they get starved for oil. Just bang out the pan so it's not up against the pickup
